Image generation
How to configure featured images and inline images
The Featured Images metabox manages image assignment for articles produced by the campaign. The plugin can assign images from the Media Library at random, generate images via AI or insert inline images in the article body, according to the instructions configured in this panel.
When to open this screen
Configure this metabox before starting generation when you want every article to include a featured image or body images. If left empty, articles are generated without images and must be added manually afterwards.
Image configuration is independent of the content brief. The two sections work in parallel: while the brief defines the article text, this metabox defines the visual logic. Changes here apply to articles generated after the modification.
There are two main modes: random assignment from the Media Library, which uses images already present on the site, and AI generation, which creates new images via an image model configured in Global Settings. The two modes can be combined or used separately.
What’s on this page
Recommended procedure for image configuration
Image configuration must be completed before the first generation. Changing these settings mid-campaign produces articles with different image logic from each other.
1. Choose the source
Decide between random Media Library, AI generation or no automatic images.
2. Configure style and dimensions
If using AI generation, set style, ratio and quality before starting.
3. Decide on inline images
Choose whether and where to insert images in the article body and with what logic.
4. Test on one article
Generate a test article and verify images appear as expected before running the full batch.
The available image options
The panel offers several combinations to cover the most common use cases, from image-free campaigns to AI-generated images for every article.
No images
The campaign generates text only. Images must be added manually after generation.
Random Media Library
Each article receives a randomly selected image from the site’s media library.
AI featured image
The plugin calls an AI image model to create the featured image for each article.
AI inline images
AI images inserted into the article body at configurable positions (start, middle, end).
Image style
For AI generation you can define a style: photorealistic, illustration, flat design and others.
Image quality
Low, Medium or High quality levels. Higher quality increases API cost per image.
Ratio
Aspect ratio of the generated image: landscape (16:9), square (1:1) or portrait (9:16).
Separate step
AI images can be generated together with the article or in a separate generation pass.
How to decide between Media Library and AI generation
The choice depends on the content volume, the available image budget and whether visual consistency is a priority for the campaign.
Use Media Library
When the site already has a rich library of relevant images and budget for AI images is limited.
Use AI generation
When each article needs a unique and contextually relevant image that doesn’t exist in the library.
Use both
Configure AI for the featured image and Media Library for inline images, or vice versa.
Use no images
For text-only campaigns where images are managed editorially outside the plugin workflow.
Common mistakes to avoid
The most common mistake is not testing image generation before running a full batch: if the AI model key is not configured, articles are created without images and there is no retroactive fix. A second mistake is using random Media Library images for a very specialised niche where unrelated images may appear.
Summary
Configure the image metabox before the first generation, test with one article, then scale the batch. Changing image settings mid-campaign creates inconsistency between articles already generated and those that follow.
