Social and publishing

How to manage social texts and publication settings for generated articles

The Social and publishing panel handles two related workflows: the automatic generation of social media texts for X/Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, and the final publication settings for each article. Both workflows are triggered at the point of publication and are accessible from the Article editor and the Editorial Calendar.

When to open this screen

Use this panel when you want to review the social media texts generated for an article before sharing them, when you need to set the publication date and time, or when you want to configure which social channels are active for automatic text generation.

Social text generation is triggered automatically when an article transitions to Published status, if the auto-on-publish setting is enabled in Global Settings. The texts are saved as post metadata and can be accessed at any time from the Calendar or the Article editor.

The correct workflow is to review social texts after they are generated, copy them to the relevant platform or scheduling tool, and mark them as posted directly from the plugin interface so the queue stays current.

Recommended procedure for social and publishing workflow

Handling social and publication settings in a consistent order prevents texts from being generated before the article is final or articles from being published without social content ready.

1. Finalise the article body

Complete all editing before generating social texts — the AI uses the article content as input.

2. Generate social texts

Click Generate or let auto-on-publish create texts when the article status changes to Published.

3. Review and copy texts

Read each platform’s generated text, make any adjustments and copy to your social scheduling tool.

4. Mark as posted

Use the Mark as done function to keep track of which articles have been shared on each platform.

Social platform text formats

The plugin generates different text formats for each platform based on character limits, tone conventions and the type of content that performs well on each channel.

X/Twitter

Short, direct text with the article’s key insight. Optimised for the 280-character limit.

Instagram

Caption-style text with a hook, body and hashtag suggestions. Written for engagement.

LinkedIn

Professional tone, longer format. Focuses on insight, industry relevance and the value of the article.

Regenerate

If any generated text is off-tone or inaccurate, use the Regenerate button to get a new version.

Copy button

One-click copy of the full social text for the selected platform to the clipboard.

Mark as done

Records the timestamp when the article was shared on each platform. Visible in the Calendar view.

Auto-on-publish

When enabled, social texts are generated in the background 5 seconds after the article status changes to Published.

How to configure social text generation in Global Settings

Social text generation requires the correct channels to be enabled in Global Settings. Without this configuration, no texts are generated even when auto-on-publish is active.

Enable channels

In Global Settings, enable each social channel (X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) individually.

Tone per channel

Configure the default tone for each platform: concise for X, conversational for Instagram, formal for LinkedIn.

Auto-on-publish

Enable the automatic trigger in Global Settings. It can also be enabled per-campaign.

Custom instructions

Add platform-specific instructions in the settings, such as required hashtags or phrases to include or avoid.

Common mistakes to avoid

The most common mistake is regenerating social texts after the article has been published and shared: the new texts may differ significantly from the original, creating inconsistency between what was shared and the current article content. A second mistake is not marking texts as posted — the queue fills up and it becomes impossible to track what has and has not been distributed.

Summary

The Social and publishing panel closes the content lifecycle: from generated article to social distribution. Finalise the article, generate social texts, review them, copy to your scheduling tool, mark as posted and move on to the next article in the queue.
